W213 (654) front central jack point - what is this covering it?

Hi, I am aware of the location of the front central jack point under the engine (same place as my previous W212) but does anybody know what the plastic thingy is (see picture below)? Do I place the jack under this or do I remove this by pulling the plastic lock screw thing? There's a rectangular block underneath it, which is similar to what was there on the W212. What is the point of this part? Part number A213 628 1200.

Just want to do an interim oil change.

You can lift directly on that. Its a puck, much like the ones on the sills.

Ah ok thank you. I will happily do that then (crawling underneath to remove a cover sort of defeats the object so I was hoping that was the case). Not sure what purpose it serves but I’m sure there will be one. Shame it doesn’t have a recess like the side sill points do (I have the jack pads for those).

Recently change it paid 20 something £, takes the bangs instead of the metal when you ride to low
