Hi, I’ve got the common fault of sat nav thinking it is in Germany & have decided I’m going to have a go at replacing the GPS antenna myself. Is it located in the drivers door mirror in a UK car? I’m thinking I might need to remove the door card/panel to actually plug the replacement antenna in. Any advice or links to internet resources which will help me with this aspect will be very much appreciated? I’m going to source the antenna from the internet - am I best buying an expensive Mercedes antenna or will a non Mercedes antenna work equally as well? Thanks, David

removing the door card won't help as far as i know, the adapter is in the drivers side mirror assembly, so you'll have to open that up,
as regards which mirror it's in, I cannot comment other than I had the problem in my own C238 (which is an E400 and basically same tech as W213) and as my car was under 3 months warranty from the car dealership they footed the bill (from mercedes), it was approx 600 euros...

if you can remove the mirror back cover you should be able to figure out where the antenna is, please take photos and share them here so others can learn from this

here's a guide showing you how to open up that mirror assembly, best of luck !

It’s working perfectly now. I ordered a genuine Mercedes GPS antenna from eBay (£55) & asked my excellent local garage to fit it whilst the car was in for it’s annual service. They charged £40 labour & removed the casing of the OS door mirror & the OS door card to fit the new antenna & to plug it in. Happy crappy
