Hi all, i am noticing a few glitches with my 2020 E400d W213. Loss of sound from sound system which does not reset until the car is left overnight, boot opening by itself, and today a much more fun one.

I got in the car to leave my office, engine on, car in drive on the stalk, applied throttle to pull forwards out of my space.

Car did not move, in the same way that it would not with the auto-handbrake applied but not auto releasing, red warning on screen, but before i could read said warning the car lurched... backwards, into the armco behind the car. Queue damaged bumper.

I immediately looked at the dash screen - D, for Drive, aka forwards not backwards. Warning message had gone before i could read it, probably displayed for no more than half a second.

I put the car back in park, then into drive again, car crept forward as it should. Parking space is flat. Back into park, inspected bumper, much swearing.

Anyone experienced anything like this? I am furious and have no idea how i could prove to MB what just happened to claim against them for damage.

One other thing which was odd, the reverse 'jerk' was far more violent than it would have been had i just applied the same minimal throttle to reverse.

I have also noticed recently the car refusing to engage reverse, flashing the 'apply brake' warning on the screen, despite the brake pedal being well pressed and the car stationary, requiring several jabs on the stalk to sort itself out.

Any input welcome.

Update: Put the car in drive this morning, it did not engage drive, D showing on screen. Also put the car in Park on my commute whilst waiting at some temp traffic lights, flat road, car continued to creep forwards.

Does any one know if there is a log built into the car or the TCU which would log any events like this? I feel proving the above to MB will be a challenge if it does not increase in frequency?

as regards the boot opening by itself, is your key in your pocket at the time ? if so it's you leaning against the boot opener button causing it to happen, trust me i know (happens to me too), it never happens when the key is not in my pocket (eg: on a shelf)...

Done that plenty of times!! however in the other instances, no. Both keys in a farraday box or sat untouched when the boot opened itself.
