Any idea how I fix this? The three bolts appear secure however I notice the black plastic bracket on the inside isn’t secured to anything. Looks like there’s no bolt hole for it on the bumper bit.

It’s perfectly secure but is causing a rattle and visually isn’t level.

Have a look at the other side and see what has snapped or is bent. Something clearly amiss there.

I’ll be interested if you find out what it is as mine are the same, that said I think someone’s reversed into my car as there looks to be some scuff that wasn’t there before

Exactly the same on my w221, left hand tip looks like the OPs and I noticed a faint blue mark on the rear bumper just above the tip so it’s definitely been bumped but some idiot in a car park.

so today I spent a bit time figuring it out, turns out to be quite a simple fix. You will need a short (less than 8”) T25 torx driver.

Get on your back and look under, there is one bolt clearly visible (labelled as 1) and two more that are not so visible and screw towards the rear bumper.

Loosen all three off by a couple of turns, no need to remove them. Adjust the trim by hand, perhaps have someone help you and hold it in the position you desire. Tighten up bolt 1 first and check the alignment is ok. Tighten 2 and 3.

Done. That simple. I’m just pleased to stop the exhaust knocking on the trim!
