Not that dear from mercedes parts
I've had two replaced by MBS, these were both cheaper than the price I got quoted for second hand ones

the gas strut is ok,its just the spring i want. Been quoted 78.50 plus vat for the complete strut as mercedes in coldstream tell me the spring is not a seperate part. i think that is a bit pricey.

Try MB Grangemouth, they are forum sponsors and discount nicely (they’ll even deliver to an Arnold Clark near you for nothing between yow and miy) 01324 686002 as for Neil Young/Parts and mention the forum
.....I lived in Bonchester Bridge for a short while in my childhood (my dad was from Hawick)

MBS Only replaced the springs on mine, I'm sure the springs only cost around £25 to £30 max per side plus fitting
