Smart + others :)
could be a number of things from a fuse to the EIS switch, if its the switch, dealer only at mo, as their not allowed to sell the green key needed to program the switch. I'm currently talking to the RMI about restrictive practices and the selling or lack of selling of certain parts.

The ign lock is a known fault that can happen with the DAS system where the key will not turn, it just requires a new loch switch as in the picture, about £450 plus fitting

An ignition switch and green key is the answer. If you need to get it out of park there is a special way if you need to know.

My S320 cdi 2003 has just started to get stuck in park, have to give it a good pull to move the selector. Read something about sticking a pen in a hole to release selector in emergency, any help would be good.

Had brake light switch replaced about a year ago, is the gear selector big job, ie ££££. Very intermitent at moment so not sure what to do. Is there a way to get it to move in emergency.

Do you have a little hole in the trim just infront of the gear shift,,if so you can poke something down the hole to release the stick

Its the lock for the car like a steering lock, that needs putting on to skates and putting on a recovery truck to someone to replace the unit, ordered to chassis number!!
