The linguretronic is operated by a lever to the right behind the wheel

This assumes that you have a phone installed, read the top bit on the left

Would you be so kind and send the instructions to me too? I have the Linguatronic hardware installed in a 2004 W220 with MOST, but it does not work.

Comand itself tells me that Linguatronic is not loaded. The Star system at the dealer reports that everything is just fine.

I really could do with some help to kickstart that sleeping Linguatronic.

PS: My Linguatronic is vintage 2004 and came factory installed with the new car. 3 Years ago the previous owner had the entire Comand malfunctioning and it got repaired by MB. Everything in Comand works (NAV, TEL, DVD, TV, CDC, Radio) except voice control

Where is the Linguatronic module installed

I took my 2004 W220 apart by removing the boot cover on the left hand side. I found lots of things, but no Linguatronic. So where is it??

I found rear to front:

1. An air pressure thing; possibly a pump - or for the dynamic seats
2. The 6 CD multi changer in one metal mounting with
3. NTG1 SatNav DVD player

When removing 2 and 3 I find 2 more units underneath:
4. Looks like a fat (ca 6cm thick) radio part; maybe the BOSE unit
5. Behind (4) there is an amplifier
6. To the right, on the wheel arch is another air pressure distributor
7. with an analog TV in front of it.
8. Behind (6) i see something oval, which looks like an aerial.

There is nothing between the amp (5) and the outer skin of the car, even though there is space. In this area is where I expected the Linguatronic to be. A US online manual shows it there.

Yes, I have Linguatronic installed and yes, the dealer has said it is faulty; when replaced by a good Linguatornic module, it worked, M-B said.

Has anyone done this Linguatronic Installation? First I need to find the part number and then I need to know where to put it. Confused.

Lingurtronic is coupled with the optical cables so easy to find, usually with the phone module

I have retrofitted linguatronic to my MOST w220.

There is not too much to the system in this car. The lever on the steering column and the control unit that links in to the optical ring.

The control unit you are looking for is under the rear seat swab (RHS). There are two release buttons under the seat on the left and right side. If you're car has electric rear seats the release mechanism may be different.

I would be surprised if it is broken. You should check the connections.

I bought my module from Starpartz:

Great service.

Cheers

Adam

For what use linguretronic is I think that I will fit my MP3 player in instead,,its far quicker and easier to push a button than ask for her to do a command, It might be OK on the phone part but I do not use mine very often, and what are the chances of her getting that bit right
