i have noticed my steering getting heavy sometimes especially when going from lock to lock, I have always thought it was on the heavy side when compared to my old w220,

Fluid checked and seems a little high, want to flush it out later today if rain stops,

Tyres pressures fine,

Any thoughts?

Alexanderfoti remade the electrical connector for the variable assistance on the rack a few years back and reported an improvement.

assistance changes with sport or comfort and on occasions seems to be lighter on mine than I remember (but could be me imagining it - rarely drive it). if the engine has decided to tick over slowly and you throw it round a carpark you can beat the available assistance till it has fits and starts of less assistance than it needs

overall it reminds me of a shoddily build badly designed joke (but I'm not allowed to express my feelings here so that's the kind version)...

I broken the connector off mine a while back, removing the heat shield that covered the rack. When I replaced the SPS valve my steering at low speeds lightened up by about 15%
