Some random shortlisted cars below, until I go for a drive in things I’ve still no idea which I’d prefer,

Wouldn't touch the Bentleys, they are cheap for a reason, repair costs are eye watering (even by MB standards) and they do go wrong regularly

The Cayenne is from the FUGLY era.

Panamera has some seriously dodgy wiring to the rear screens, the interior colour is nice though

The first S600 looks lovely

That era of Bentleys I used to trade, seriously you will feel short changed after the honey moon period, if you are excited by material things.

The v12 is enticing but the MB quality would put me off.

So from the list I’d say Cayenne. I’ve only driven the 1st gen but the 958 models on have great reports for ride quality.

No 221?

I meant to hit send on this earlier
I know what you mean about the early shape cayenne, but I oddly don’t mind them.
Those rear screens look like factory retrofit (done really badly and not hidden the wiring), would be interesting to see what they are actually like in real life.
I think the Bentley is likely to feel special initially, but yes, I do wonder what it might be like after living with it for a while, though I have always liked them so not sure.
I’m taken by the two 600’s, the 222 is a higher mileage but I now only do ~12k a year now so it may start to level out in the future. That said being a 600 am I looking at a gearbox rebuild in the very near future due to the shear torque that engine produces, maybe a bit of a gamble there

I’m voting that the S600 is going to be a truly shocking experience into high costs . Don’t do it buddy .

Personally from experience, my first W220 was a early one, my second one was one of the last ones. Latter one was more reliable.
Subsequently bought a W221 second hand at 2.5 years old which was registered 7 months before W222 started, if i wanted to buy a W222 it would a late 2019 age or early 2020. Let Merc sort the wrinkles out.
