W246 B180 sport Exhaust tip removal

Hi all. Has anyone managed to remove and replace the tips. They look like they are held on with 1 E8 torx bolt but have a feeling they have also been fitted with exhaust paste when slid onto the back box pipes. If so what's the best way to soften the paste.

You'll have more difficulty with removing the fixing bolt than breaking any exhaust paste seal.
