W447 V Class 2017- Android Auto, and Apple Car Play

I have a new to me W447 V Class 2017, with Command, dont know which version it is, either 5.0, 5.1 or 5.5, but it might be 5.1, given the age. I have seen the android auto upgrade dongles you can buy on ebay. I did contact someone on ebay selling it and asked whether this would work for a V Class, which he stated no!. Does anyone know whether there are any such dongles for V class, or I will need to go to a Main Dealer to upgrade it. Surely its just an option that needs configuring on star/xentry?
