Just brought a new to me car/van W447 2017 V Class. I was trying out the cruise control feature, and there is massive difference between the speed showing on the digital read out, and the one shown on the needle speedometer. Is that normal? My old Viano didnt have that issue. Driving down the A2 yesterday, I had the cruise set for 40mph, and the digital readout was 40mph, but the needle was pointing at 50mph. I didnt know which one was correct. Anyone else come across that issue? Scary!

Yeah i suppose, but why then add to the confusion, having three speedos not reading with 10mph. The police allow for 10% speed variance for your speedo, so you can legit do 55 in 50mph zone.

Speedos are allowed to over read by ~10% but they can’t under read.
Pretty much every Mercedes speedo I’ve had over reads by 2-3 mph

My audi q7, never showed a 10mph difference between the needle speedo and digital display speedo, next to each other. Surely both speedo's in the same car connected to the same speed reading device, ie the speed sensor, should display the same speed, even if its 2-3 mph incorrect. I would just like them to read the same.

Don’t seem to have that problem with our V class 447, though to be fair I have not checked but sure that I would have noticed.

Hi Nigel,
Apologies about the dleayed response here but I have been out of action for the last week.
Ayyway, I took the wife's V-Class this morning to school. And from what I can see, our speedometer needle matches the digital needle.
As in it was showing 30~35mph on the clock while the digital readout was reading 50~55 (kilometers per hour). Sorry if this is confusing but we have the digital readout set to KMH as we are in Dublin.
Difficult to get a picture whilst driving of course but I will see if I can get one for you.

My apologies too, but I did check ours out. Just forgot to get back to you.

No problems with ours, they both read the same..
