Hi Guys.... Newbie and first post. Be gentle.
I have a 2012 Vito 116 (W639) that has been emptying its coolant. I found the leak, or rather my shoe did, the heater return pipe which runs between the block and the fuse-box has a 'T'-piece - the bottom leg has corroded and snapped inside the pipe. I am pretty capable of fixing it but I cannot access the pipe work because the Fuse-box is in the way.
Removing the Fuse-box appears to be the best way to go, can anybody advise me how big a job this is?
Many thanks, in anticipation.

Caution required, but not too scary.

Disconnect the battery negative.
Inside the fuse enclosure unplug the 2 ECU plugs by sliding the tabs sideways and lift.
Remove ECU, and as all electronics keep safe and dry, get 'em damp and there's problems ahead. I put 'em in the van.

Unscrew the 3 torx, 2 at back are awkward.
To aid lifting the fuse bank it's worth lifting the transit block and rubber fillers on the left.
Lift fuse bank and carefully unplug all the connectors underside and into the SAM. Don't worry about later confusion, it may take some working out to reconnect but they are all unique with their keys. There is one 2 wire plug that will break v easily, that feeds the enclosure fan below, look out for it when lifting.

All unplugged lift it clear, complete with the SAM. Record the id of the SAM, you might find that useful in future if looking for a replacement on eBay.

You can get to the TCU now easily enough.

Beside feeding new feeds from here into the cab that's as far as I've gone, but I imagine removal should be fairly easy to work out.

Good luck.

Thank you Martin.
I think I'll give that a go.
