Hey everyone.

I have searched the forums but haven't found much relating to seats in Vianos, hopefully someone can help me here.

When I first drove the Viano the drivers seat wasn't working, then after checking fuses pulling them out and refitting to no avail and eventually giving up, the seat started to work again 10 mins down the road, its worked well since then for about 6 months.
Recently I was adjusting the seat and because I was in a rush, I started the van at the same time. The seat stopped working and I cannot get it to go again.

I have tried the following:
- Check and pull fuses and refit
- Disconnect the car battery. reconnect. I currently have it disconnected again and will leave for the day.

I'm keen to know what controls power to the seats, my gut feel is that the computer has a part to play because you can operate the seats within xx seconds of opening the door etc. I wonder if the computer cuts power to the control module when the van is starting similar to other items.

I think I have managed to upset the module as I was holding my position 1 setting down as the seats moving when I started the van..

Other than pulling fuses, is there a way to reset these seats?

Cheers,

Patrick

Hello again, I am going to start testing the circuits for power etc. The only reference I have is the passenger side. Does anyone have circuit wiring diagrams for the electric seat system?

Reagrds,

Patrick

I am missing electrical diagrams as well.
Read your report again. This is what went through my mind.
In the old days, there was a relay called the X-relay or Crossover relay.
Its job was to cut power to anything that would draw a lot of current only when the starter was turning.
Do you have such a relay on your vehicle..?
