bought this about 6 mths ago lately very bad at starting sometimes have to leave the car 15 mins and return , could it be glowplugs

Doubtful as CDIs only really have glowplugs to get around emmission regs. They will generally start ok without them. I believe the common cause is weak seals in the fuel system around the fuel filter housing etc allowing air to get in.

Ask your w/shop to check the pressure delivered by the high pressure pump, the engine requires approx. 300 bar to start.
