Wanted - 300sl 1986 -1989

Please help me in my search for my dream car!

I am after a midnight blue SL300 with cream leather interior, must be a rust free example but not too fussed on the 'extras'. Mileage up to 80K.

I have been looking for around 8 months online, and seen the same old ones sitting on the several 'specialist websites, either rusty or extremely inflated prices.

I am in Berkshire but willing to travel (not to Scotland though) to get what I want. Willing to pay up to 10K.

DO you think that I am being realistic with this price mark??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Personally, I think that you will have to pay more for what you want...@ £13k and you may find it hard to find one with leather, as most are MB Tex or cloth and cream leather is even harder.....do not be put off by mileage if you find the right car. These cars are capable of huge mileages and 100,000 is nothing for one of these.

I got one! My first ever merc!


After months of searching I finally managed to be the winning bidder on ebay yesterday it is a 1988 300 SL with 77K miles, midnight blue with cream leather interior.

Needless to say I am thrilled - also now a fully fledged member of the owners forum!

SL300 Auto D reg 1987

Hi Emma,

I have a metalic light green SL300 D reg 1987 sports car which has been in my family for the over 10 years. My brother and I have looked after it and loved it.

It has a hard top and soft top is tan.

I had a the soft top and tinted windscreen replaced in 2006 and it is like new again.

It has only 56,000 miles

the seats are green leather/cloth and it has a speakers for a 12 CD/radio sterio in the back shelf.

I had a new alarm fitted in 2005 with immobilizer etc.

I am selling it sadley as I am now living on a farm and use the landrover so my lovely car is not suitable and far too beautiful to get muddy etc.

I know it is not the colour you are seeking but I think you may like it.
