I desperately need both camshafts from a 450SL 1980: Chassis: 107 044 120 60008 Engine: 117 985 12 049332.

MB dealer is quoting over £1k a pair!!!!!! If anyone knows of any good contacts please please please contact me! Or good second hand ones would be as good!!!!!

Whats wrong with the old ones? There are ways and means of renovating old ones - so long as they are not in bits. I would imagine that one of the aftermarket cam grinders (Kent, Piper, Newman cams) could supply cams outright cheaper than your £1k

Personally, I don't like the idea of using old cams in your engine as there will be a fractional difference due to wear between your engine and the cams, which will result in excessive wear. Any old cams ought to be refurbed anyway.

Don't forget to include new guides, seals and followers - and a good cam building lube.

Thanks y'all.

I have ordered one off of eurocarparts.com. Seem to think it will fit, but will see when push comes to shove! Was an amazing £77 + VAT. Am I getting a carboard cam???!!!!

The cam is knackered I think due to cold starts and a blocked oil channel. Happened prior to my ownership! Two of the lobes are heavily scored as a result.

Does anyone know any good garages in SW19?!!
