C220 EXECUTIVE SECDI AUTO
Hi all, I have just bought a 2015 C220 executive se cdi auto Coupe.
There is a warning light on the display that relates to the brakes according to the user handbook. Looks like a circle with exclamation mark inside it
I have changed discs, pads, fluid etc and put all back together and warning light is still on.
I bought a diagnostic reader and when I plug it in its tells me there is no faults/problems.
Is there a way of getting the light to go off. Its not a great problem but if its not showing faults I could do with getting it off.
I thought the diagnostic reader would have option to switch it off but if its not picking up a fault I assume it cannot de-activate the warning light
Any help much appreciated
Cheers
Graham

Did you change the wear indicator at the same time?
If not the old one has probably worn through resulting in the warning light still showing.

Ok there's why you aren't seeing any errors.
That reader is only for reading engine and emission related modules and faults.

According to what I've just read it can't read the ABS systems or any if the other modules (SRS, SAM etc).

It's your parking brake not coming up far enough , lift it with your foot and it will go out.
Hi, cheers for that mate, I will try that tomorrow morning.

Hi again I have been looking on utube how to fit reversing camera, I followed instructions on how to get into engineering mode (end call - hash - 1) to activate camera within the system but a totally different screen comes up to the one on utube.
I have attached 3 pics of the engineering mode.
pic 1 is from utube which is easy to follow if I could get into it.
pic 2 is first page screen in my car
pic 3 is second page screen in my car if I select system option.
If anyone can advise that would be great
Car is a 2015 C220 executive se cdi auto coupe
Cheers
Graham

Hiya, I took a pic to show the warning light I'm on about, the park brake light is the red one at the top and the one I'm talking about is the orange one at the bottom beside the seatbelt warning light
Hopefully you can advise on what the orange one is.
I just got car 3 weeks ago so still trying to find my way round it until I can find a manual.
cheers
Graham

That looks like the Tyre Pressure Warning light , check you pressures and perform a reset.

As I said in post I've only had car a couple of weeks, how do you do a reset.
There's a message comes up that says no tyre pressure monitors fitted, is there any way can I de-activate this as I would assume if that gets deactivated it would shut off the warning light as well
Cheers
Graham

Has the light been on since you got the car ?

Does it have new tyres ?

K
Hi Kenny, I put 2 new front tyres on when I bought it, back ones are in good nick. Warning light been on since I bought it, was informed it was brake warning because it had been sitting since xmas.
Obviously not true but we learned a few things since we bought it.
Seller wont answer txts, phone, or messages so just getting on with it.
Nothing "major" at all wrong with car just niggly wee things. Seller said he'd put a new mot on it but I forgot about it when we picked car up and as I said not getting answers to calls etc etc so will just get on with things and then I'll know for sure if I get things done myself
Cheers
Graham

Doesn't matter about the wheres and whens now, I have the car now so as I said if I get it done myself I'll know it's been done right.
