It means the air suspension is raising the car as it's too low (should be mentioned in the owners manual). If it's happening often you have a leak in the air suspension which needs to be found earlier rather than later as these things never get better on their own and eventually you'll burn out the compressor.

Your car has Self Levelling Suspension (SLS) which include rear air bags, air compressor, valve block and self levelling arm on the rear axle. It’s quite common for one of the airbags to spring a leak which means the car will drop at the back when stood and at the next start (usually in the morning) have to inflate the system beyond what is the normal rate of travel hence the warning message.

If you have a raise button on the central console the car has airmatic which is air suspension front and back but they are quite rare, all Mercedes E estates have rear air suspension

I've had and got the same issue.
Previously it was a hole in one of the pipes where it is held yo the sub frame. New pipe sorted it though i think it could have been fixed with a connector replacing the holed part.
Now it is happening again but no clue as to why. Can't get into a decent indie

Air bags are usually the prime culprit in the end. Mine was intermittent as the pin hole was in the fold of the air bag. Using a soapy solution didn’t work as the plastic shroud covers the air bag. The job is diy
