Hi,

Can someone please recommend me a decent warranty cover?

Looking at the AA cover at the moment but not sure if there are other decent covers for a 64 plate mercedes c220.

Thanks

Have you tried Mercedes? My 2017 C300h is only £450 with no excess and claim limit up to value of car.

MB warranty ties you into servicing by them but that is the best you will find most 3rd party warranties can be problematic probably better to put the money in the bank MB 4 cylinder diesels are pretty robust

They never tied me in to servicing by them.

In fact it wasn't even mentioned.

You can take your car elsewhere but you won’t be covered by MB recovery so I don’t see the point - if you do make sure that genuine parts are used or the warranty is void

I agree with the breakdown and recovery. Also parts and fluids being used need to be of Mercedes spec for them to honour any warranty and they will need receipts etc as proof. Also a service contract with them can also be payed monthly so you don't notice it going out. I got a three service contract which covers all fluids and service items for £36 a month.

Do you really need warranty cover? I have owned cars for over 50 years in the early years some very cheap old high millage cars. We have been a two car family for the last 38 years, & in all that time only bought 3 new cars.
I have never had warranty & never called out a breakdown service. So I have saved a fortune not having warranty.

With modern vehicles relying heavily on electronic modules it’s not so easy to repair them yourself. Plus a lot of equipment fitted is expensive to replace. The motor for the load cover on mine needed replacing whilst in warranty and that alone was over £600 which was covered. A new led headlight is around £1200 plus labour. Plus being a hybrid I feel a warranty is a good option.

You need to look at the small print, exemptions how much & how often can you claim. I would be interested in the cost?
Warranty's are there to make a profit, so they are hoping you will claim less than your premium.
Six MB's in 20 years between us, repairs other than servicing has cost us less than £600.

If I was running a hybrid a warranty would be at the top of my list of must haves the bills can be eye- watering

Probably won't cover "consumables" of which I suppose includes the batteries

I believe it covers the hybrid battery but like all warranties not the normal battery.

I would expect the hybrid battery to have a service life which will be covered by the warranty and mentioned in the T&Cs - Toyota et al do this.
