It’s been a while since I’ve been on the forum so I hope everyone is well.
Recently I had to say goodbye to our long serving B class as she developed a fault and it was no longer worth trying to keep her on the road.
The B class was our 2nd Mercedes following our CLK which we took ownership of in April 2011 and until the gearbox ECU failed had provided us with reliable and relatively trouble free 40K worth driving in the just overs 9 years we had her, which included driving her down to Malta from the UK.
As the car was in Malta getting the issue sorted wasn’t an easy option for me and taken in consideration that the Comand system wasn’t working, the LCD display had failed, the lacquer had started to fail, it also had quite a bit of superficial body damage from others would couldn’t park for toffee and it wasn’t the cheapest car to tax and insure either we decided it was time to say goodbye and off to the recycling centre she went.
It was a sad and rather emotional day for my wife who drove her to be dismantled.
We though have replaced her with another Mercedes, being a 2016 GLA in mystic blue! She is already here in Malta and now has been registered and now has her Maltese number plates.
She joins the SLC we drove down in 2017 and we hope to enjoy the GLA and SLC for many years to come.
