My 2003 CLK 320 has the usual problem with the water bag - both sides of the rear window there is a vinyl pocket that is supposed to sit neatly under the window seal and then move out of the way as the roof opens to let the rear glass do its thing.
This pocket/water bag has elastic strips attached to the underneath (inside) that are supposed to pull it down to the underlying roof frame during the fuianl stages of the roof closing .
The elastic straps break, so don't pull the water bag down neatly, so you get this bit sticking out beside the glass. Bit like a hernia....
You can get at the underside - allegedly - to sew new straps on, but you need to be a skilled roof fitter or have done it before.
I'm neither - nor am I a double-jointed gnome!
Does anyone have a recommendation for a soft-top repair outfit (ideally in the Somerset area) that I can go & talk to??
Cheers
David
