Water in footwell

Hi there

Every time it rains, the driver's footwell in my 1983 500SL gets quite a bit of water sloshing about in it - also the carpet next to my right foot feels very wet.

Any ideas where this is coming from and how I sort it out?

Distinct possiblilty that the water drain holes under the bonnet are full of leaves.

The most usual place is the top rubber along window top,the water can run down inside A pillar, use liquid rubber at the top. If the front kick panels are removed you can see if it is coming from the top. Take swimming lessons ?

i overcame this 3 yrs ago by buying a water proof car cover because my 1984 380sl always filled up with water i never found the root of the problem

Did you close the roof :-?

On the 129 the cure is to remove the strip under the leading edge of the roof and put some sealant on the ends,going in about 6" towards the center and put the strip back.
