Just bought a new GTech floor cleaner & it had a free hand held plus a free car kit.
So when I'm cleaning my front passenger carpet I noticed water in the cleaner.
The passenger carpet is soaking.I've done a search here & someone said the scuttle drains but that was for a 2005 E Class & mine is a newer model.
The drain forward of the windscreen adjacent to the wiper arm was blocked with gunge & while I've cleaned what is visible I suspect there's more there.
If any one has any ideas I'd be very grateful!

Put the bonnet up into the service position and take a look. Depending upon where your battery is there can be drains under there that block, give it all a good clean out and get the car dried as fast as possible so the water doesn't damage any electrikery...
Mercedes and a lot of others decide in their infinite wisdom to locate a lot of important electrics down there that can get seriously damaged by water ingress

Just discovered it's in the rear footwell also but the sloping bulkhead in the front is dry.

I hope you get it dried out.
I had the same experience years ago in my C250TD but thought Mercedes had fixed it.
I had leaves that had blocked the drains around the windscreen.
Never forget the sloshing sound of water around the fuses.

oh god, water ingress, it can be a pain. the water in the back passenger side will be a result of the water in the fr4ont passenger side, it has run back, un less you park it back facing up hill.
Check all your drain holes, including the water drain from air box (if it has one).
Is the windscreen the original ?, could be the screen leaking.

How do i know all this ?, went through the whoile thing during the winter, my old W163 ended up with three leaks, all draining into the same place, but main leak was the windscreen seal.

I wish you luck for an easy fix.

Fortunately we have some decent weather forecast & today I had it on the drive with doors & windows open & a desk fan going at it at max RPM.
I think it's just about dried out & Tuesday I'm taking it to my neighbours body shop where he tells me they are quite experienced in this sort of thing.

Well my neighbours mechanic got some crud from one of the drains & tested it with water afterwards.
Last night was the first decent rainfall since I dried the car out & the front passenger footwell was soaking again this morning:(.
Got it booked into Wayne Gates later in the month.

Good call joderest!
For the last week I've had it parked nose downhill into my drive whereas ever since I've had it I've been reversing it in.
Got in yesterday & there's a pool of water in the gearstick gaiter & that can only have come from the screen.I think it's the original screen as I've had the car since it was 14 months old & I've never changed it.
It's going into Wayne Gates on Tuesday,I just hope there's no rust!

Had an indie windscreen fitter on it today,he said it wasn't sealing at all at the top & that he's already done another MB & a BMW this week with the same problem.
Into Wayne Gates tomorrow to get the interior dried out.

fingers crossed !!!
The guy that fitted mine stated that some fitters do it incorrectly, they start sealing at a top corner, work all the way round and finish in same place, if the seal between the sealant breaks down, you get a leak.
He said he always starts at the bottom in the middle, goes all the way round and finishes in the same place, he logic was that if the seal where the join is breaks down, water cannot run up hill !

My next door neighbour is a partner in a car bodyshop & he & his business partner(who is the tech guy in the partnership) recommended the window fitter to me so I'm hoping it's been done right.
