Please can anyone advise what might be casusing a water leak from the left side of the windscreen.
The water runs internally under the glass to the interior light via a wire inside.

I had the windscreen re-selaed so its not that but people are saying the drainage panel on the left side might be blocked. ????

I dont have a sunroof or convertable or airel on the top of the car. its one solid roof.

please help as when the nose points forward it drips inside the interior light then down through it....:-(

the car is a CLK - T reg 1999

Hello and welcome, the fault can only be the windscreen seal.
these thing cant be re sealed very easily, and can only be done when dry.

I do not know of any drain as it is not needed.

The glass is bonded and may have to be cut out and re bonded

thank you for your help

I really cannot thank you enough for your advice as the dealer was saying that it couldn't possibly be that as to possibly to save costs no doupt.

Theres a quarter inch panal that goes the full lenth along the roof either side. I gather that just allows water to runs away and it couldnt leak inside unless it holds water and goes through the window seal right?

You could have saved me sooooooo much money i owe you a BIG thankyou

The VIN number is the first thing you should check when you buy a car.

Verify that the same number is printed in the registration documents and servce records.

It is on the plate thats fixed under the bonnet usualy silver on black but may be any colour, on recent vehicles it also has to be visible from outside without having to open the car up, this is usualy through the windscreen glass (at the bottom, in front of the drivers seat) and is stamped into the body shell to prevent unauthorised tampering.

If you dont check this how do you know that its the real vehicle and not a stolen or rebuilt total write off? If it is a stolen car you have no rights whatsoever to your money back, if its a been write off or has been heavily repaired you may stand a slight chance of reparations, so be certain sure of vehicle identity before you part with your cash, especialy at a car traders...
