Hi

Open the bonnet all the way until it is vertical and then with a good torch/inspection lamp - locate your drains, rubber tubes one each side and one in the centre under the blower intake.

It is most likely you have a fair bit of compost in them from the rotten leaves that tend to collect there. Clean 'em out and then test that a pint of water poured in each one appears at the bottom and exterior of the car!

Good Luck.

Hi, I second the suggestions written by NormanB above. What you are describing is exactly what happened to my car (W202 C43) a month ago. The air intake box under the windshield had become blocked, and water was collecting in this box and then overflowing into the passenger footwell.

Once you cleared the drain plug at the bottom of the box, remember to remove any mats you have on passenger fotwell to allow the carpets to dry properly (can take a week or two), as water has probably seeped thought the carpet into the foam layer underneath.

Water leak

Is the car fitted with a sunroof?
If it is these can leak down the A pillar into the footwell.
