What is the life expectancy of a water pump for my car? It has done 36,600 miles

A water pump would normally last very much longer than 36k but, depending on factors such as incorrect belt tension, manufacturing tolerance defects, coolant quality, etc, its life can, in relatively few cases, be shorter.

thanks for your advice. looks like I'll have to write to DC to see who'll end up paying! Sod's law.... it's just out of warrranty! thanks anyway! :?
