I think I know the answer to this question but wanted to see everyone’s thoughts.
So Im about to order all the bits I need to fix the c207.
Serpentine belt
Tensioner pulley
Water pump

The water pump is the thing, when looking online there seems to be an abundance of pumps without the housing apparently making it a quicker easier job. The pulley o my is shot and need replaced my original thought is to buy a whole new pump inc housing but has anyone had any success with just the pulley and seal section?.
We’re only talking about £60 difference which includes the housing so the cost isn’t the issue I’m thinking more about repair time.
Which make is OEM? Ridex seems to pop up often.

If you have the plastic back housing change it. They are prone to distortion and imagine how angry you’ll be when it leaks two weeks later if you don’t.
You’re right I’ll most likely change it.

Is this the om651?
On mine there are 2 pulley choices, belt running inside or backside. If I remember it is stop / start (or like mine, not) that makes the difference.
MB Grangemouth would supply from the VIN, so then possible issue resolved.

Don't know for sure but I suspect it to be cheap Chinese stuff. It's often the cheapest of AutoDoc's offerings.

For a water pump; I'd choose MB, Laso or Graf.

Thanks a lot

So I replaced the water pump, couple of pulleys and a tensioner. no leaks from the pump but I'm not so sure on the tensioner could just be my eyes.
have a look at the video and see what you think. the tensioner itself isn't moving and the nuts are torqued. I checked after the video and there's no movement.

Thought I’d take the car it’s maiden voyage, starter her up and it seems like the pump is squeaking. Now is this normal because it’s new or is it a sign of the bearings not right on it?

Cars been running for about 5 minutes and seems to have quietened down? Perhaps the cold weather?

Is the belt new?
No and the reason is because I did buy and new belt but the wrong size came so waiting on the new belt to arrive and will put on.
Took her out for a 45 min spin coolant dropped slight buy about a cm in the take but I imagine that’s the thermostat opening and the engine taking some water. Will top up tomorrow when engine cool.
While driving I have my trusty sidekick (12 year old son) on the autel, DPF went from 109% to 14% so glad that’s all working well.
Quick leak check when got back all seems tight and no leaks. Happy days
Thanks again

I thought the belt looked a bit shiny. That tensioner oscillation may disappear with a new belt.

Yeah hopefully, soon as it comes I’ll get it on.
Next job I need doing is a small oil leak looks like it’s coming from the rocker cover gasket.
I’m sure something will creep up between now and then o_O
