Get the original, I have seen copied but they are bizarre. Try Euro parts if you insist. Water pump in C180 is a common weakness especially if you keep pressing the serpentine belts to test it. I avoid even touching it now.

While you are changing the pump, might as well change the oil seal too. This is another weakness, save you another job later.

Ask MB first for a price then compare with GSF or Euro car parts.

Welcome to the forum

Four years ago I paid £150 including trade back amounting to about £240 including labour and changing the front brake pads at Huntington indie. I was lucky to get one delivered on the same day.

There is absolutly no risk involved in pushing on the belt to check it, this will not cause undue wear of any part of the belt system, the tension load on the belt is much greater than you ,I or both of us could manage.

If the price is Ok get an MB unit but I aint seen any problems with pirate pumps from ECP @ ~£50, get it changed soon since water pump glands can and do fail catastrophicaly loosing all the coolant in seconds. It will fail some time, maybe tommorow maybe next year but fail it will.

Often the leak is less when the engine is running only getting bad when its hot but not turning, you leave the car hot and when you return the coolant is on the floor.
Check your coolant level each time you are about to use the car, if the coolant lamp comes on stop immediatly.

My worst experience of this single point failiure was a V12 jag with a melted engine, it's owner said it cant be that because it only leaks a tiny bit and its done it for years, Hmmm.
