Wax oil treatment?

Anyone in the Edinburgh area know where to go (locally) to get the wax oil treatment done on my e-class? Is it worth doing, paying for? No major prob's with rust at the moment so want to ensure that remains the case!

If you are going to keep any car its worth doing, I use an old spray gun and warm the Waxoil up to 20c and it flows well. but as to who does it now is a hard one.

I will do my SL in the summer.

agreed, best done on hot day so the waxoyl is liquid. otherwise put the container in a bucket of hot water.

its a messy job.

you can buy the guns for the large 5ltr containers at a repatable motor factors

if done properly by a garage they should remove all door cards, linings and steam clean bottom then spray everywhere, which is why mentioned its usually expensive and takes a long time.

there a few adverts in mercedes enthusiast, but i think they are all down south.

I live in leicestershire & they used to be a garage who used to spray any model for £50! I had am Omega done there once, Great Job

Probably more suited to a body shop, which was the type of place i took mine too, £400 seems harsh

I use a guy here in (very) North Fife - in Gauldry, near Cupar. He is a quite old school accident repair guy, and has an outdoor ramp used frequently for such grubby jobs.

He has sprayed a number of my cars - often he'll use waste oil in places where waxoyl is too solid (waste oil gets right down into tiny crevices, but is a bit messy come MOT time..).

Hi everyone, would you recommend removing the door cards etc when waxoyling, I used to do this years ago when i had Mk1 escorts & the like, but now i've progressed to real motors. I would like to do the Merc in summer, but i dont fancy getting waxoyl all over the trim. Are there special tools available for removing the door cards, or is it a case of proceed with caution, any advice appreciated.

Firms like Car Co and Auto paint suppliers sell special tools for removing door cards, they are a flat angled blade with a V in the center that grips the nylon stud and does not damage the door card.

As you rightly say, if you damage door cards, they are never the same, all of the details for card removal are on the Russian site.
