I have been given a quote of about £130 +VAT to waxoyl the underside of my 300SL. This includes all suspension parts and also silicone lining the rear wheel arches that have the initial signs of rust, any thoughts on whether or not this is a good price, and whether or not the siliconing is a good idea

is it right that the treatment of waxoyl can last for up to three years?

thanks

It costs about £30 from Hellfords

for 5litres of waxoyl, and the pump sprayer and the extension probe, and took me two hours, including up-jacking/ramping, and a coffee break. Not sure about the silicone, in both senses.

The price sounds ok if you are not wanting to dirty your hands, you would be better to waxoil the arches as well.............
