I have noticed that the central ventilation vents only produce cold air when the automatic climate control (code 581) is on cold mode. The reason I ask is that on my older W124 280TE, with air conditioning - not automatic climate control, opening the central vents would produce cold air, presumably from outside, regardless of temperature setting. It doesn't bother me but I was wondering if this was meant to be the case. Perhaps a feature of automatic climate control.

Thanks Malcolm. I will have a look later. There seems to be a lot of 29s.
