Hello,

The CD changer in the boot of my 2002 CLK has died. The guy at the garage says the laser has burnt out.

I was wondering if anyone could give advice on the least cost repair or replacement options?

I want to play CDs, MP3s playback would be considered a bonus.
The existing unit is an Audio 30 with Bose speakers.

In older cars I have replaced the manufacturer fitting stereos fairly easily.
Is the job just remove old unit, buy some adaptors the cables to make the ISO standard, slide in new unit?

I am concious the CLK has lots of electronics that may or may not complicate the job.

Below is a link my spec

Thanks,
