Weird noise from front wheels

Hi Guys,

At speeds below 30 mph, I can now hear a faint 'whir, whir, whir' type of noise and it appears to be coming from my front drivers side wheel. The 'whirs' speed up as the car speed increases and then disappear at 'cruising' speed.

Any ideas?

It's going in tomorrow to get the Panoramic roof squeak sorted and I'll get them to take a look at this as well, but any advice in advance would be appreciated.

Thanks

James

That will be a wheel bearing, fairly easy to replace, if you are going to do it yourself, make sure that you put it the right way round otherwise the ABS will not work.

Hi Malcolm,

I suspected that it was a wheel bearing! Amazing how a few items appear to be going wrong with it just as the warranty is coming to an end. I assume this would be a warranty item as well?

Yes it is, there are times when a few things go wrong, then it can all stop and you will be posting in 20 years time, with something new.;-)

Just had a call from the dealer, appears that it was a stone stuck between the disk and pad!
