Hi, experiencing a resonance between 2,000 & 2,500 RPM. Think it might be something to do with the gearbox (Torque converter?) , wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to the forum.
What exactly do you mean by resonance? Is it a noise or a vibration?

Thanks, it's a vibration, it's not subtle either, can be felt throughout the car (felt by driver and passengers).

I know another owner of the same model (estate version) and he is experiencing the exact same issue, so it's lead me to think (hope) it could be a common issue with this model, so I thought I'd chance this post.

Just thinking, a 2010 E250 with 5 speed box? Shouldn’t this be the 7 speed?

That is a very common symptom of an impending friction plate failure.
Has the fluid been checked recently for contamination?

Would that be caused by the engine coolant leaking into the gearbox oil cooler in the radiator? I know that there's a particular make of radiator that is susceptible to this. Was it Valeo?

Thanks for the replies, very helpful. There actually was a leak from the engine coolant a while back that I got fixed and it was leaking on to the gear box. I'm going to book it in for a gearbox service and take it from there I guess.

Check centre prop bearing. Before pulling g. Box. Assuming it has one? Also any sign tac welded balance plate on prop has dropped off.
