Your question needs further qualification. There are lots of capable welders in Cornwall but you don't say what quality of workmanship you are looking for. Are you after a MOT fail repairer or a specialist bodyshop?

I have just had a corrosion repair job performed on my rear, nearside door by Keith J Rule & Son who operate a crash repair centre on the outskirts of Nanpean, near St Austell.

I am mentioning Rule & Son because having met Keith I learned they won the prestigious national Small Bodyshop of the Year Award. They describe themselves as BMW specialists but they also meet all of Mercedes-Benz criteria too. M-B recommended them.

My paint job was under warranty but whilst in Napean I could see that Rule & Son are crash repair specialists and no job was too big or small for them.

Of course, I have no idea what your requirements are or your budget but if you are after a professional repair then give Keith a call on 01726 822005.

I will give a fuller report after I collect my car from them this afternoon. Incidentally, they loaned me a new Corsa 1.2 whilst the repair was being done.

However, if you are after a temporary repair then there are dozens of welders in Cornwall who will meet your requirements.

I don't know if this information will be of help -- When I lived in Swansea and needed welding on one of my cars I 'phoned the local technical colledge where they had a motor section and asked if they could help. They nearly fell over themselves to come and get the car to use for the students to train on. I had the car back 4 days later better than ever, fully valeted and cleaned, cost 30-00 pounds. Apparantly they can only charge for materials used, labour is free. I don't know if this is still current practice but was 8 years ago. Hope this is of some assistance.
