Hello All -

After recent heavy rain, I found that the carpet down the right hand side of the drivers seat, the passenger footwell, and the right hand side of the load area of my 230TE were wet.

A search on here suggests (as does common sense) that the sunroof or the drains are likely culprits.

Can people please tell me where the drains are located - I have found two under the bonnet on either side next to the bulkhead, which are solidly blocked. Are there any others? And is there a recommended way of clearing them out - if I poke a rod down, I'm concerned I might just compact all the debris.

Cheers

Hi there, this is weird, I had the problem last week and posted a subject "WATER LEAK HELP". There are 2 or 3 solutions.

1. Lift up bonnet, on the near side bulkhide, right up against the windscreen is a black box, just underneath it is a tube with a flap, open the flap, water should drain out, in fact remove the nozzle that has the flap, clean it out, and put it back.

2. The nearside gas strut for the bonnet support, just about 1 inch in front of it is a rectangle hole, where water drains out. Make sure there is no debris, take a hose pipe, and blast water through this, should clear any stuff stuck in the drain.

3. I had to remove the entire nearside carpet, it, sbest as you can then dry this out.

4. 2 jacking points, near this are 2 rubber plug holes, 1 on either side, remove and see if water leaks out.

5. Make sure that you dry out the carpet, as the sponge can abdsorb lots of water, and you dont; want rotting carpet.
