So... this drivers seat in my E class has probably suffered more in my 26k miles of ownership, than the previous 190k - oh well, slacks versus denim I guess...

Anyway, I think my sister has a bunch of those funny shaped leather needles, and I am thinking of giving this a bit of a stitch. Looks like 9 stitches might save 90..

Has anybody done this with possible pics / guide - seems I need to hone my YouTube search skills (goes for another look..)

- What gauge/type of twine should I use - is there a colour code or colour variant I should opt for?
- Where should I possibly start / finish this sewing? Any tips on that so it doesn't catch the eye.

(And yes, perhaps the leather could do with a deep clean.. I clean it regularly but it seems difficult to get into the texture)

When our Clk drivers seat needed some stitches, I popped into a local upholster place and had a chat.

Came away with some “cotton, twine “ and a needle.

I unpicked above and below then started with a “double stitch” , ( went through the same two hole twice) and finished with the same. Easy at the start and a “pita” to finish..as had to secure the loose old ends in too..

would have been easier to give the lady £20 for the “quick five minute job”..

To get the ends away, put a needle through then put the ends into it, then pull the needle through and it will bury the ends inside the bolster
