Hi all, I'm happy as larry to of bought my first Sprinter van a year ago and I love it!. It's a 208 CDI ( poverty engine spec ) however it's done just 71,000m from new and drives absolutely spot on. The interior is hardly touched everywhere , seats like new with 0 bolster wear and tear..... just the usual patched up bodged rust repair to pass previous MOT's etc. The overall upper body, roof , panels are completely dent free, I intend on throwing some cash on it for full respray with new arches and lower rear doors etc where all the usual perishing areas go.
My question is when I get round to it, what size alloys and tyre specs can I put on it? is there a general maximum/ minimum size ( diameter and width ) to stay within?
Only because my mates got a newer sprinter van with big chunky off road tyres ( he doesn't use it off road ) and he's got issues with the steering rack/system.
Hence I don't want mess with the geometry/ speedo or steering rack if i put too larger alloys on it ? Any advise would be grateful. Thanks

Looks like the only official Mercedes wheels recommended for a 2001 Sprinter are either 15 or 16" diameter.
Click on the link below to see what they are.
Click on any wheel and you can see the wheel spec and scroll down to see the recommended tyre size.

It's not about the size of wheels you put on it, it is about making sure you keep to + / - 2.5% of the OEM rolling radius of the tyre.

The "Swamper look" is very in vogue ATM (putting chunky wheels and tyres on) with the pick up and van crowd. The trick is to do it correctly

Of more importance than anything is to ensure the wheels and tyres have the correct liD rating. Just because you never intend to carry a load doesn't mean the load rating can be ignored. If you have an accident and your wheels are not up to the relevant load rating your insurance could refuse to pay and if wheel failure is deemed a contributing cause you could be in a lot of trouble.

Talking to my tyre deal, every VW van that comes on on 20” wheels has cracked rims.
