What are the wires under W211 Console?
I have a late 2003 W211 E Class that I did not specify the pre-wiring option for the phone. I have read in many on-line sites that apparently MB fitted all the wiring with exception of the final link as part of manufacture in all 211s up to early 2004. I would really like to activate a phone and have a cradle etc to link in with the steering wheel and my retrofit 2006 2.5 Command.
I have today lifted the bottom of the console out and find 4 sets of wres/blocks but all are connected. There are 2 pairs of thin red/black wires, one black block that appears to have 4 wires and runs through a sleeve, and finally a white square shape block. The thing that confuses me is that all these are connected, and I did expect in the back of mind to find a spare plug to just basically plug into and hey presto!
I have luxury climate and all these four wire sets seem to just go under the back of the console, probably some to this.
Any ideas appreciated!! Thanks Gordon
