Can anyone please help?
Have recently got a 2005 SL55 AMG. Both batteries need replacing, but when I search for new ones, I am given the choice of 019 for the consumer battery which is way to big and would never fit in the boot and 062 for a starter battery that would fit but is different size to the current battery (although I believe both batteries are currently the wrong size)
Many thanks in advance for any help you can give to a 'newby'

What's there currently?

Simplest way is to call MB Grangemouth and mention the forum. Their prices on batteries are very competitive and you know they'll be the right ones.

Many thanks but I did that and the starter battery that they show is way to big!
It shows a length of 278mm and I have space for maximum of 200mm.
My car does have an F1 kit, but I don't really know what that is! could that effect battery size?

They look correct to me.
The big one goes in the boot and the small one under the bonnet.

096 AGM is what's in my 230 boot and that small one looks the same as under my bonnet.

Had another measure and the 096 in the boot is a lot thinner than the present battery but very similar in hight and length, so I am happy with that - Many thanks.

However the starter battery under the bonnet that is recommended is 278mm length. Currently there is a Bosch S5 001 with a length of 207mm and it is a very tight fit, also to high as the holder strap will not fit on it.

Appreciating all your help everyone. I heal im half why there now with boot battery confirmed.

From the Varta website:
Model:

535 106 052
Capacity:

35 Ah
CCA:

520 A
Width:

175 mm
Length:

212 mm
Height:

140 mm
Short Code:

AUX1

The 096 is 278mm long but that's not the starter battery - it's the consumer.
