Hi!
Listen,I'm sorry to keep posting up seperate posts about this job guys.
This is a different question though.
I have just been to collect my new front springs from MB Peterborough.
I didn't take them as they appeared to have just the same amount of coils on them as my current ones.....the ones which make my car sit too high!
OK,so the ones on the car now were fitted by an uncontactable previous owner. Those don't have colour code paint marks on them.
Soooo,Iam asking anyone on this site ...If you have a 93-97 W124 Sportline Coupe (not sure if the same on saloon),could you be a poppet and look at your front springs and see what paint markings you have on them??
The ones they ordered in for me have 3 Yellow,3 Red on one coil. Then on the next coil down have 1 Blue marking.
You know what I'm starting to wonder?Whether or not I actually have the right springs on now,and its something else making the car sit a good 4-5 + cms higher than it should.I mean, would the springs pads make any more than a cm of difference? I thought you could only get max 1cm increase from the thickest spring pad.
Top mount too thick???
Urgh this is a nightmare. Can see her going to a specialist unless someone here can make my day!
TIA
Steve
