I've just bought a W126 and there are a couple of spots of rust I need to remedy and touch in.
I believe the colour is Almadine Red (its a metallic burgandy red). I think the code for this is 512. But what is the colour of the lower sections of the car? (bumper/ plastic door bottoms)as this appears to be similar but a matt finish. Where do I find the paint codes on the car please?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Just phone the parts department of your local dealer with the VIN number of your car and ask them. They carry the paint for the top of the car in a touchup stick and the paint for the kit in an aerosol

A MB dealer or paint shop will know the colour,,do bare in mind that these parts use a matting agent of 10% and you cannot do this when using aerosols,, so you could flat the finish with a 1500 paper and not polish it too much

I believe its Navarrarot Metallic (Trim) DB-3521 thats from an american site where 512 is called Garnet Red Metallic Clearcoat

the colour may be at the back of the service book on the vehicle card.

500 SEL colours

Thanks for all your help, guy was spot on with the bottom 1/4 colour.
I went to my local Merc dealer gave hime the VIN no, they identified top colour (thats at back of serv book as was said by another helpful fellow), then further investigation revealed bottom colour. They ordered it and had it in 2 days. I had no idea of the colour code until it arrived but its exactly the one you said. Its a specific plastic paint and only available in touch up stick (not spray). The match is SUPERB. Just had an hour prepping and touching in a scuff on rear bumper corner and one on sill cover. I was doing it on drive (the big tank won't fit in my garage!!) Light was failing , but I was delighted with the match.
Thanks again for your help. In general the help I've had since using this site in last 3 weeks has been brilliant. The folk on here are knowledgable ,polite and can't offer enough help. After 25 years of owning various Italian cars (some exotic, some not so!), I'm impressed with my first foray into the world of the 3 pointed star. You may just have got yourself a convert!!
