Thankfully i'm bidding on a house that has tied up _all_ my cash.. and I my co habiting partner (Dad!) has put his foot down at 4 cars..

€8700 / £7257 seems a little saucy for the 184k miles. (Even for Irish prices..)

Pics don't look awful. I'm not gone on the 4 holes where a phone mount was and also the seats could really do with a refurb. What is a reasonable value for these in UK?

Lovely cars, shame it's not a Coupe, cosmetics are easily repaired.

I think it's worth all that to the right person

Only one for sale in the UK

They are nice!

The EZL units used for them are nearly unobtanium and do fail so something to keep in mind.

Good job on the house move buddy :) , at least that’s a lot more sensible than more cars than you can drive ;)

I used to have one of those about 15 years ago! One of the best Mercs I had - another I shouldn't have sold - but I had been promised to be able to buy the Coupe Version which was the reason I sold it but when I went to collect the chap had sold it to someone else and omitted to let me know - I was well ****ed!

The price seems a little on the greedy side - even the Coupes struggle to earn that much! It's one of those cars that it just depends on how much is willing to pay. Shockingly if my memory serves me right I sold mine for £1800 back in 2007.... (Which is what I was going to pay for the Coupe).

Here's a couple of photos.

It had the proper Leather. You can always tell by the ruffles in the Door Cards. No ruffles, not leather....

Good luck with whatever you decide - but as others have said, yo could do worse - a lot worse!!! ;)

Oh there's no decision to be made.

I'd like it but I can't have it..its a little too rich for me.

For what it's worth. The guy has been trying to sell it since mid last year and is slowly knocking the price.

Ive not had a 300E-24 but I did have a 300CE-24 and later a 300TE-24 W124s, the coupe and then the estate. I got the coupe just after having sold a R107 500SL and remember it being easier to drive around town, a vast amount more space of course, exactly the same performance as the big V8 and much firmer handling.
The 300-24 cars were notable for having a far hotter camshaft profile than Mercedes had toyed with before on a mainstream model. It gave them a lot of grunt though narrowed the powerband a bit so the cars would feel more docile than the standard 300 12 valve until you pushed them hard and then everything would happen all at once and youd be firmly reminded you were sitting in quite a quick car that deserved respect. The E320 version of the W124 that took over from the 300-24 still had 24 valves and a few more CCs but with a wider power band and several bhp less. It was far more docile on the road, driving much more like a better version of the 300 12 valve car than the 300-24 beast, probably why it had broader appeal and sold in large numbers.

After a year of so I swapped my 300CE-24 for an early W210 E36 AMG which though it had 600CCs more and about 35bhp more it's power delivereywas much gentler and more progressive, no kick in the back like with the 300-24 W12. In fact quite the opposite of what I'd expected going from something marketed as an apparent mainstream Mercedes model to something AMG badged albeit only 6 cylinder.

I bought my wife a 230CE in Hong Kong, must have been a mid- to late 80's car, white with grey lower panels. Lovely car and I preferred it to my company Toyota Camry - like driving an armchair but even as a 4-pot enough urge for Hong Kong's roads. An idiosyncratic car with its 'jumping' wipers, pneumatic seat back locks, etc. We had quite a lot of ancillary mechanical work done on it (brakes, a/c etc) as like many HK cars, it had been polished to within an inch of its life on the outside but probably not been serviced for years!
