Blobcat, I've copied this from another post I saw:

From Ernest Sidesman:
M-B bonded windscreens provide around 35% of the vehicles torsional strength & are designed to support the weight of the car when its on its roof.
Factory approved installation should take circa 6 hours(Curing/environmental).
Recent enquiries to local/national windscreen fitting centres suggest that most use M-B supplied screens or direct from OEM. Auto Windscreens use their own sourced glass but will fit M-B on request.

Replacement necessitates removal of trim/headlining around the screen aperture.Sealing/bonding agent has to be injected in dry conditions & after glass insertion should be left to cure for several hours.

Fitting centre always offer to come to you to replace glass. Franchised dealers, due to sheer numbers, obviously have less experience & are reputed in some cases, to call in the local fitting centre to do the job.

Have you had a replacement windscreen fitted?
Was it successful? Where was it done & by whom?

Ernest Sidesman.

Hope this is a good example &amp:)

IIRC this code can come about when a post is written in word then cut and pasted into the forum.

Have to agree, you try and make sense of it in one line ,and then it does not make sence in the next, also notice that the &amp are together with no space.

& is the HTML code for an ampersand, which is the & character. When a website wants & to appear, it has to be coded as &

When a message on a forum needs to contain a &, the software writer has to decide whether to translate this to & and store that in the database, or just store & and do the translation when displaying the message. If the strategy changes at some point (eg the software is upgraded) that can be one reason they might appear in older messages.

Thanks everyone. The mystery is at last solved. I thought it was some kind of esoteric web speak. Cheers.

You mean when the car is uside down????

Not knowing what happened in an accident is what causes the worst shock, more so when the passenger is asleep, with a nice clear window you can what you hit . :) :)
