What exactly does the microswitch on the guide lever of the fuel injection system on the 190e do?(the switch that gets clicked when the throtle is fully released, ie when you lift off)

I ask this because my guide lever never seems to release enough to actualy activate this switch. Is it a fuel cut off switch? And could this be why my car seems a little thirsty at the best of times? I've adjusted the cable that goes to the auto gearbox and that has helped a hell of a lot with the gear selection(kickdown and being in the right gear for load, speed, ect) and with the mpg to some extent.

Id just like to know what the hell the switch does

Any info would be great thanks.

Yes, that is the deceleration microswitch.

It should click when throttle is fully closed - you may need to adjust the linkage on the plate to ensure this happens.
