And diagnosing a rumble I was worried about.

I got the dreaded fuel tank baffle CLANGING on the SL this week so today set to on it with the intent of doing the spring workaround. I found it had already been done but had come off the baffle. I couldn't get it back together so I did a fix of my own.
I threaded some 1/4 inch aluminium rod, bent the end to hook around the baffle, then drilled a hole in the top of the tank sender unit. I passed the threaded rod through the sender then pulled the rod and baffle tight with a bracket and a nut on the rod. It's sealed around the new hole with silcone and now all done. It will be very easy to take apart if ever needed. The downside is that at the moment it's not pretty but could easily be made to look better (if you worry about what is under your carpets and trim.)

The guy in the Golf- Andy- just sold his C63 and replaced with that.....sound familiar?
And yes, the E63S 4 matic (two there today including Dave’s ) is very nice indeed

That was the original plan John, but while I delayed selling the C63, the Mk7.5 facelift came, and my budget didn't get a facelift to cover it!

Bedford Borough Council in 2014-5 made an actual newspaper statement that they had decided it would be a better use of cash resources to put their road repair budget into insurance premiums to pay out against car repair claims from motorists.
