An old B-Class.
Tell me about it......

But I wish I still had some of those old cars now!

1964 Austin Mini 850
1960 Humber Super Snipe Series II Estate
1961 VW Karmann Ghia 1500
1970 Audi 100GL
1963 Fiat 600 with suicide doors
1975 Mini 1275 GTS
1959 Ford Anglia 105E
1983 Ford Cortina Mk5 2lt Estate
1971 BMW Neue Klasse 2000
1985 Mercedes w123/200
1979 Mercedes w116 350se

And I had these all between 1976 and 1999 - I tell you, some would fetch a pretty penny now!

My first car was a 64 or 65 Morris Mini 850.....I "souped it up" with a Monza twin barrel carb and a Cobra exhaust. Don't recall if it went better but it sounded better.......at that age my ambition was to own a 'Mini Cooper S'

At that age I was happy to own anything...lol...lol...

The Mini was my first car - paid the princely sum of £15.00...:shock::shock: And if I remember correctly a gallon, yes gallon, of petrol cost 37p. 20 fags were about the same!

My first (and second, and third ) cars were Minis.
The first was a woody 850 Mini Van (called a Countryman). After I killed it I bought my Cooper S (very early 1275) - from my high school mathematics teacher :)
For its time it was an awesome bit of kit.
I also bought another Mini Van - 1000cc.
The Cooper S was warmed up a little.... 45 DCOE Weber, big valve head, severely lightened flywheel and pressure plate, straight cut close ratio gearbox, polished con rods, forged pistons and a very very lumpy camshaft with 300 degree duration on both inlet and exhaust valves). It was a beast and having no power below 4000rpm pretty hard to drive (but fantastic when on the cam!).
The van was standard - which made it feel very slow but it was a great leisure vehicle for a 19 yr old with lots of hormones ;)...
I so wish I'd kept them....
