I'm planning one in Herefordshire on Monday and maybe one or two back in Shropshire Wednesday....:coffee:
So I was planning a Costa in sunny Hereford city but when I got there I changed my mind and "popped" up the A49 to Church Stretton instead. The staff are always cheerful there.. Then I carried on up to Shrewsbury and then along the A5 a bit of M54 before getting off on the old A5 past Telford for Costa No 2.... and mostly A5 and M42 home.

The car said 29.5 degrees and don't I know it - too hot in places for the top to be down in the odd traffic queue but nice with the windows down and anything over 45mph. The pano roof makes the inside like a greenhouse especially with my ailing air con that is in need of a regas..... That's on the list for tomorrow if I can get it booked in somewhere. Another trip to Shropshire planned for Wednesday..... And todays mileage......

Replaced the wiper blades. Also, the toyo proxes that I ordered from 4wheelonline arrived today. Installation will be done this coming weekend.

Well big day yesterday finished house painting (for the moment) after two weeks, so I decided to tackle a light grinding noise from the rear suspension of the car when just coming to a halt. Odd that it doesn't manifest itself when moving off after being parked up but can be heard if you lift the suspension up by the wheel arch.
I had taken out the spring on the rear drivers side, cleaned and greased the seat and painted the spring previously and this cured a lot of the problem so I was hoping doing the other side would cure it completely.
Just take the plastic cover off the bottom arm, take out the shock absorber and arm inside bolt
while supporting on the trolley jack, easy. Until you find that the bottom arm bolt won't come out because MB fitted it facing forward and it fouls the exhaust. Result wrestling with three rubber exhaust hangers to drop it to allow clearance. Temperature now passes 32C in the air and more in my temper so after the spring was out a long pause while all cooled down and the spring was sanded, primed and painted. Finally installed early evening and adjusted the hand brake through the wheel bolt holes, I spent longer trying to remember where the ratchet is (just in line with the top of the caliper, for future reference).
Result no more noise but I'll wait for a few more journeys to say resolved.
Still better than house painting

2009 W211 E-Class E280 Sport Estate (OM642 3-litre diesel V6), 3x remapped, now returned to stock
Today Oi've been mostly having moi brake fluid changed. Found a local garage with a good reputation within walking distance (just about) who've done it for £35.

Tomorrow off to the auto-electrician for an Android head unit & front + rear dashcam. Rear cam will also serve as a parking monitor through the head unit.

I've fitted some LED lights in the front footwells. Disappointed that I can't put Mercedes puddle lights in the doors - the current lights are hard-wired in on a W211, apparently... :(

Shorter Costa run today as it was a bit warm out and haven't got round to looking at the aircon issue. Top down all the way there and back on a quick trip up to Shrewsbury on mostly A roads with a few junctions of the M54 and a few narrow lanes plus hacking across Shrewsbury centre.... Can't really grumble about the mpg and it seems little different with the top or down.

Looked at a thick layer of demolition dust all over the car.
A care home just demolished 50yds away and a concrete crusher coming next week.
Could do with a garage to hide it away:(

While looking over the SLK inside the glove box is this cradle which looks like it should have something attached to it? The car doesn't have sat nav as the display is saying no module.
Any ideas?
