Installed new AMG Mats :) great price from Grangemouth

Look nice.
I dont normally like cars with AMG stickers on them, when they are not an AMG cars.
But having ordered the proper mats from Grangemouth for a great price of £126 reduced to £105; only to find they were the right part no. But LHD!!

Apparently all the mats for CL500 C216 in the UK are incorrectly labelled as RHD.

Well that means a German stock check that will take 6-8 weeks ... very responsive. :-/

Grangemouth kindly offered to Supply the AMG mats costing £142 for the same price £105. Very nice if them :):):)
Great "can do spirit" :)

Having seen a couple if US parts sites saying the RHD velour mats for the C216 were now discontinued , I went for it.

Well I do have factory fitted AMG 19" split wheels ...

I reslly didnt like those twisted pile ones

I have the OEM AMG mats in mine, and whilst I like the layout, I don't like the colour. They are the right one but too light IMO!

I bought the standard ones for now and the AMG ones are in the boot. The quality of the standard twisted pile ones has dropped considerably. They are half as thick as the ones in my 203...

Quiet day today.

Swapped out my DRL's on the S65 for official Osram ones, the clones are just no good!
Spent an hour with a razor blade, scraping the old window tint adhesive from the front windows on the C Class.
Emptied the boots from both cars.
Tidied up the dashcam wiring on both cars.
Washed the C class and hoovered the interior.
Fixed the C class's Cigy lighter.

I popped out for some cable ties. Ended up with a new car seat for little un, a load of new plants for Mothers Day prezzie a, a boot full of shopping and some new wiper blades. And the cable ties. Also had lunch in Waitrose's little cafe which is always very pleasant- steak & caremelised onions marmalade sandwich for me, cheese sandwich lunch bag for Girl Child. Total planned spend: £10. Total actual: £290.

Also treated the CL to a wash n wax and full tank of fuel.

Were you referring to the Velour AMG mats ... in the sunlight they do look a teeny bit lighter black :-/ ... maybe my imagination
Bit still an improvement on the twist version.

Noticed that the surface of the paintwork was a bit rough , around the lower wings and front doors, so i purchased a clay mit this morning and got to work expecting it to be a chore. An hour later i had not only clayed the nearside of the car i gave it a polish with some "Black Hole".

Not bad for a 6 1/2 year old car that lives outside.

Spent most of the day cleaning and washing both SL's before starting on the seats armed with Gliptone Intensive cleaner and instead of using the insipid smelling Gliptone leather conditioner I used the leather conditioner I have that I bought for the Bentley. This actually restores the smell of leather back into the seats which does linger on for ages. I have found the Gliptone stuff over powering and not leathery smelling at all.

Both SL seats soaking up the lovely leather conditioner

I am now resting my achy body

Took the 129 round to Malcolms and did a STAR session on her. Cleared out a bunch of old codes and will now monitor to check if anything pops in (been having a very intermittent low speed hot misfire - revs perfectly and runs perfect when cold).
